As-salamu-alaikum. You would be delighted to know that an outstanding organization, named “Hasana Foundation Bangladesh”, has been formed to improve the social welfare of the people of Bangladesh. The organization was founded on the 12th of July 2001 and was registered with the Office of the District Social Welfare, Dinajpur (Regn. No: Dinaj/1664/02) on the 15th of August 2002. Our activities are funded by donations and non-interest loans from home and abroad as well as our own income-generating projects. With your help and kind cooperation, the organization expects to start conducting its activities throughout the country, as early as possible.
1. To participate in charitable activities focusing on social-welfare and public service promoted by funds collected as donation from home and abroad. 2. To alleviate poverty of the underprivileged communities. Some examples of the activities to achieve this objective include: training programs and projects in partnership with local people to equip them with necessary skills to facilitate their employment, facilitation of equitable loans in the form of Karz-e-Hasana (non-interest loan), health education to improve standards of hygiene and environmental conditions, provision of safe drinking water, development of roads, transport and communication systems. 3. To develop a “Zakat Fund” by collecting Zakat (Zakat is defined as the “Poor people’s due” in Islamic Perspective) from home and abroad and to distribute the fund in the approved sectors. 4. To run relief and rehabilitation operation during and in the aftermath of natural calamities such as flood, draught, famine, earthquake and other emergencies. 5. To eradicate ignorance and superstition of the people of Bangladesh and to promote moral values and tolerance amongst them through publications, meetings and seminars. 6. To cooperate with other organizations having aim and objectives similar to the “Hasana Foundation Bangladesh”. 7. To foster social welfare and nation building activities among people from all walks of life in Bangladesh. 8.
